For the second time we are hosted in the United Kingdom, this time in Manchester, the third-largest city.
Another record is set with the number of participants, this time being 24. Three countries, namely Austria, Croatia and Hungary, make their debut, and Canada also returns to the competition. The only country to withdraw is Portugal.
After the voting was completed, Israel emerged victorious, with its entry 'Barechov' performed by Hen Aharoni. The United Kingdom and Ireland followed closely to take second and third places respectively. Both the Netherlands and Croatia failed to vote and were penalised with 20 points each. However, it was Croatia who received the least points and obtained the last position.
